Mission:

Coordinating the efforts of scientists, popularizers, educators and entrepreneurs to outreach and make the public aware of the opportunities offered by biotechnology. With this aim two main areas are involved: Promotion of biotechnology culture in our society Citizens should become familiar with biotechnology, an essential requirement to foster interest in its progress and implications and improve public perception. It is also a prerequisite to advance the biotechnology-society dialogue, solve ethical dilemmas and weigh up risks and opportunities. Promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the biotech company. CSR is the voluntary phenomenon whereby growth and competitiveness are balanced, integrating at the same time social and environmental concerns. To handle this responsibility as an integrated part of biocompanies’ organization and management and not only in the context of risk management or public relations policy is a challenge this group faces, by sharing best practices and promoting their dissemination. .
