Molecular Diagnostics

Mission:
This group pursues to harmonize the practices of molecular diagnostics in Spain, and in particular, to call relevant authorities’ attention to the need to efficiently incorporate European Standards. Likewise, it defends the benefits involved in including, from the start, quality standards in genetic diagnostics. It is essential to regulate the sector to prevent intrusion and send a message of scientific rigor and business excellence to the different types of target public involved.
Latest activities:
Submissions to the "Law on Biomedical Research" draft. Meeting with Maria del Val Diez the Director of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Healthcare Products, and Carmen Abad, Deputy General Director of Medical Devices. Presentation of position paper "Molecular Diagnostics in Spain: current situation and proposals for improvement." Study about the in vitro diagnostic medical device regulation.
