The road to sustainable pharma production plant: ZETA GmbH inside-to-outside approach with examples of posible measures to improve energy efficienly throughout the plant

During this virtual workshop, ZETA will present its Inside-to-Outside approach together with three examples of possible solutions to improve the energy efficiency of the entire production plant.

1. As an example of energy optimization of process equipment, ZETA will present the advantages of Buffer Inline Conditioning System versus conventional buffer preparation strategies. How to solve the “buffer crisis”? A more advanced concept called the Buffer Inline Conditioning System (BICS) can be used.
2. As an example of energy optimization of cleanrooms, ZETA will present the benefits of a data driven design approach that combines production process simulation and CFD airflow simulation. How to reduce the energy demand of a cleanroom while providing an optimized contamination removal effectiveness? This methodology does not use “rule-of-thumb” air change rates, instead generates time and space resolved data by simulation to be used in the design of the systems.
3. As an example of energy optimization of facilities, ZETA will present opportunities provided by heat pump technology. How can heat pumps increase the overall efficiency of existing production plants while reducing CO2 footprint? This technology is already one of the standard solutions in most new investments, but the challenge is the intelligent combination and integration in existing systems.
