ZeClinics is HIRING an Animal Facility Technician!

ZeClinics offers an exciting opportunity for an animal facility technician to be part of the team, whose mission is to offer an outsourcing solution for safety and efficacy screenings of novel chemical molecules using zebrafish. The prospective candidate will be service-oriented and will closely interact with researchers helping in all the animal facility procedures. DUTIES OF THE ANIMAL FACILITY TECHNICIAN INCLUDE:

• Breeding zebrafish for use in research projects.
• Collaborating in the facilities maintenance, including facility safe clean, facility utilities, animal husbandry, environmental enrichment, technical support, and daily operations.
• Collaborate in the development of ZeClinics policies and procedures for animal care.
• Help ZeClinics researchers with experimental work.

STUDIES

Holding a Laboratory Technician Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (and equivalent) in biotechnology, biology, biochemistry, biomedical laboratory science or a related discipline will be necessary.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Proven previous experience with zebrafish husbandry will be mandatory.
• Generalitat de Catalunya accreditation to take care of animal models for scientific purposes will also be mandatory.
• Experience with chemicals administration, microinjection, and zebrafish biology and are a plus.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• It is essential that you have a real interest in working with animals. You must be gentle, handling animals with patience, confidence, and care.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are important, and it is also important to take a methodical approach to teamwork practices.
• This job could involve sometimes a lot of physical work.
• A good sense of humor.

LANGUAGES

Able to understand and speak English will be a plus.
