Role and functions

We are looking a highly motivated, dynamic and exceptional researcher with a PhD in life sciences and recent experience in the field of CAR-T cell research with in vitro and in vivo models in oncology. The candidate will have a key role in advancing the project OC-4, which focuses on preclinical CAR-T cell development for the treatment of Glioblastoma, and several additional solid tumours, including pancreatic, renal, colorectal, breast cancer and melanoma. This project is funded by AGENCIA ESTATAL DE INVESTIGACIÓN, Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, under the CPP2024 programme.

The candidate will:

• Collaborate in the OC-4 experimental design and execution with a network of internal and external scientists.
• Conduct independently in vitro and in vivo immunological analysis.
• Coordinate with external CROs/collaborators.
• Be an integral part of the development of cutting-edge CAR-T platforms including autologous and allogeneic therapies.
• Participate in the manufacturing process development, and the development of analytical assays.
• Work in coordination with the Head of Research

Qualification required

• Recent PhD holders with reasonable experience in industry, including biotech, pharmaceutical, CROs, or academia, in scientific areas related with CAR-T cells and cancer animal models.

Exprience required

• Scientific track record demonstrated with publications or patents.
• Experience working with animal models and/or immunodeficient mice.
• Strong experience in cell biology, molecular oncology and immunology.

Desirable experience and qualification

The following experience will be viewed favourably:

• A track record in CAR-T research, immuno-oncology and/or immunology.
• Flow cytometry.
• General cell culture of cell lines, primary cells, tumor explants and organoids/tumoroids.
• Handling of primary human blood samples.
• Viral vector production.
• Experience in generating in vitro and in vivo preclinical work packages for regulatory submissions and interactions with regulatory agencies.
• Experience working with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
• Understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory guidelines for Cell and Gene Therapy.
• Experimental animal certification (A/B/C/D functions ECC 566 / 2015).

Salary

• Competitive salary plus bonus based on qualifications and consistent with the company’s pay scales (Junior Scientist).

Conditions

• An open-ended contract and a development career program (Senior Scientist promotion upon performance evaluation).
• Selected candidates will receive specific training in those areas that require higher expertise.
• Target start date is January 2025.
