BCN HEALTH Will present two communications at the Jornadas AES to be held in June in Seville
BCN HEALTH will participate in the Jornadas AES, which will take place in Seville from June 17 to 19.
BCN HEALTH will present two scientific communications focused on the economic evaluation of health interventions.
One of the communications will examine the findings of a systematic review regarding the efficiency and costs of adoptive cell therapy with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL-ACT) combined with high-dose interleukin-2 (HD-IL-2) in patients with melanoma in Europe. The objective was to evaluate the use of healthcare resources, direct and indirect costs, as well as the economic indicators derived from this therapy. To this end, an analysis of scientific literature published between 2000 and 2024 was conducted. The study determined that the combination of TIL-ACT and HD-IL-2 constitutes a cost-effective therapeutic alternative for advanced melanoma, with the potential for more extensive implementation. However, difficulties related to high manufacturing costs and a lack of sufficient data in certain geographical areas were detected, highlighting the importance of continued research to facilitate its integration into various healthcare models.
The second communication will consist of an analysis of the economic impact generated by heart failure in Europe. Based on a review of studies published in the 2000–2024 period, the variability in costs, resource use, and the effectiveness of disease management protocols was analyzed. The data obtained indicate that hospital admissions continue to represent the largest portion of the expenditure linked to this pathology. Likewise, the work underlines that more precise risk classification, the implementation of innovative care strategies, and the incorporation of advanced technological solutions can optimize resource utilization, increase the profitability of therapies, and mitigate the financial impact of the condition. These conclusions confirm the relevance of promoting personalized interventions within the healthcare system.
