The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the biopharmaceutical company MSD have signed a sponsorship agreement whereby MSD becomes the healthcare partner of the Spanish Women's National Football team for matches played in Spain. This collaboration reflects the commitment of MSD and the RFEF, under the presidency of Rafael Louzán, to health and to the prevention and treatment of different types of cancer.

The agreement was formalized at an institutional event held at the RFEF headquarters, attended by Ana Argelich, president and CEO of MSD in Spain, and Manuel Lalinde, CEO of the RFEF.

The aim of this alliance is to promote social awareness of human papillomavirus, the most common sexually transmitted infection that can cause various types of cancer, including cervical cancer. Prevention of this virus is, in fact, one of the key levers of the Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Problem.

To this end, an awareness campaign will be launched through various actions and with a presence at the matches played, in Spain, by the national team this year.
