Nanobots Therapeutics, a Catalan startup founded in 2023 as a spin-off of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), has developed an innovative technological platform based on nanorobots. This technology enables the direct delivery of drugs to cancer cells, achieving a 90% reduction in tumor volume in animal models.

Initially focused on treating bladder cancer, one of the most expensive cancers to manage and responsible for 45,000 annual deaths in Europe, the company plans to expand its platform to other types of cancer and diseases. According to co-founder Samuel Sánchez, "our goal is to significantly improve the efficacy and safety of medical treatments with pioneering solutions for localized drug delivery."

The startup successfully completed the first stage of its seed investment round, raising €960,000 in private capital. This achievement highlights the interest and trust of investors in its innovative technology. The financial support received, combined with contributions from the National Research Agency (AEI), the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and other investors, will allow the company to scale its solutions and continue advancing its groundbreaking technology.

With a team of seven employees based in Barcelona, Nanobots Therapeutics reaffirms its commitment to improving cancer treatments through the combination of biomedicine and nanotechnology. Furthermore, it strengthens its trajectory in the search for effective solutions that can be extended to the study and treatment of other complex diseases.
