Biobank and laboratory technician

MiMARK is an In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) spin off company from Vall Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) focused on improving Women’s Health. We are specialized in the development and validation of clinically impactful biomarkers in gynecological fluids to provide innovative diagnostics across gynecology indications. In MiMARK we envision these fluids as the next step liquid biopsy in the gynecological arena to provide easy to access and reliable diagnostics.

Our first product, WomEC, is an IVD for a high-efficiency diagnosis of endometrial cancer. Our product is currently in the last steps of prototype development as an immunoassay-based technology, and we aim to start clinical validation phases by 2024.

We are seeking for you!

We are looking for a highly organized and adaptable laboratory and biobank technician with knowledge of biological sample handing and biobanking to provide technical support for the development and maintenance of MiMARK’s private collection of gynecological samples. As a Biobank technician you will support the day-to-day management of the samples and will work closely with Clinical,

Technical and Scientific teams to support MiMARK’s projects. This role will involve the logistics, reception, processing, analysis, storing and administration of human gynecological samples collected by gynecologists from multiple clinical sites. Additionally, it would be highly valuable experience in immunoassay techniques to support the product development and validation activities of the company.

ou will be a part of the MiMARK team and will contribute to the company efforts to move from R&D to clinical validation of our assets and their regulatory approval.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the shipment of materials to recruiting centers.
• Manage the reception, labelling, processing, analysis, registration and stori.ng of clinical samples, following standard operating procedures.
• Sample and associated data registry at the Biobank database.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support the biobank audits.
• Laboratory equipment maintenance and verification.
• Control of stock.
• Provide support on placing orders of laboratory goods & services.
• Provide technical support, when necessary.
• Participate in company’s scientific and general meetings.
• Contribute proactively to MiMARK activities.
• Reporting to MiMARK’s responsibles.

Requirements

• Technician middle or superior grade in Clinical laboratory or similar (CFGM; CFGS desirable but not mandatory).
• Experience of working in a diagnostic or research laboratory.
• Experience of working in a biobank will be highly valued.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage workload efficiently while being flexible and adaptable to changes in work schedule.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Passionate, well-organized, decisive, and committed.
