We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lab Technician to join us in the Fermentation area.

Requirements

  • BSc or higher level professional training in related area to Microbiology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in bioprocess units that include preparation and sterilization of culture media, bioreactor operation and control, sampling, harvest and processing of biomass, by means of centrifugation and ultrafiltration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in bacterial and yeast cell cultures.
  • Experience in laboratory management: equipment calibration and verification plan, quality system management, material reception and preparation, etc.
  •  Experience in food microbiology, GMP for food and bioreactor experiment design will be valuable.
  • Good level of English
  • Learning capacity, detailed work and organization.

Role and Responsibilities

As part of the Fermentation area, you will be tasked with

  • Run lab operations including large- and small-scale media preparation, microbial culture development, sterile technique, and autoclave operation.
  • Operate bioreactors to support the study and improvement of fermentation processes. This will include addition of medium components, sterilization, daily sampling, cleaning and routine maintenance.
  • Evaluate test methods as assigned to determine accuracy, consistency & relevancy. Perform validations on new methods when required, improve current methods if necessary and ensure minimal variation with testing equipment.
  • Review, evaluate, create, maintain, and edit documents, databases, reports and records.
  • Maintain lab equipment in calibrated and good working.
  • Stock management of laboratory material.
  • Orders management.
