Lab Technician

ZYMVOL® is a venture-backed biotech company specialized in the design, development and application of molecular modeling software in the discovery and development of new industrial enzymes.

Until now the company was 100% computational, but we are now launching our own lab facilities to complement our activity.

For this matter, we are looking for a research scientist to work on the development and optimization of enzyme production processes. 

This position will support the continued development of novel industrial enzymes designed in the company’s dry lab for both internal R&D and customer projects.

Required Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a closely related field
• Experience in the production of recombinant proteins: gene cloning and manipulation, mutants construction (site and saturation mutagenesis), microorganisms’ cultivation, enzyme activity screenings, protein purification.
• 2+ years of experience with analytical chemistry including HPLC and GC
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• English proficiency 

Responsibilities:

• Independently perform research projects related to enzyme production and setting up reactions and analytics
• Design experiments
• Document your work, write reports and prepare presentations
