Patent Attorney Trainee for our Biotechnology team at Hoffmann Eitle

Hoffmann Eitle S.L.U. is the Spanish subsidiary of Hoffmann Eitle Patent- und Rechtsanwälte PartmbB, one of Europe’s best-regarded intellectual property specialists. We are looking for a English/Spanish bilingual Patent Attorney Trainee to join our Biotechnology team in the Barcelona office.

We are looking for someone with a strong scientific background in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, or similar, a PhD and international experience being positively regarded.

The trainee will join the Biotechnology team and will assist in the preparation of patentability analyses and opinion work, as well as the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the biotech and pharma fields, such as relating to molecular biology, pharmacogenomics, gene therapy, immunology, animal models, diagnostic methods and biomanufacturing.

Excellent command of Spanish and English is required, knowledge of Catalan being a plus. Previous experience in patents or intellectual property is not required but it would be appreciated, especially partial qualification in the European Qualifying Examination will be positively considered.

The ideal candidate must be able to manage strict deadlines, be meticulous with attention to detail and be able to effectively prioritise a full workload.

In addition, it will be complemented with the ability to build relationships, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.
