About Integra
Integra Therapeutics is a biotechnology company that is creating next-generation gene writing tools to make advanced therapies safer and more effective. The technology is based on the CRISPR system, which has been merged with transposase and integrase proteins that have a great capacity for gene transfer. Thus, the system does not depend on viral vectors for transporting the gene-editing components into the cell both ex vivo and in-vivo. The company was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) by Dr Marc Güell and Dr Avencia Sánchez-Mejías and is based at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). Integra raised a 6M€ Seed Round in december 2021 and is supported by a syndicate of international investors (AdBio Partners, Columbus Venture Partners, Invivo Capital and Takeda Ventures) and organizations in the healthcare and biomedicine sector.
