Asparia Glycomics brings together world experts in glycosciences in San Sebastián at the 8th edition of Glycobasque
Organized in collaboration with CIC bioGUNE and CIC biomaGUNE, the event will gather leading experts to address advances in glycobiology, immunology, and carbohydrate chemistry. Registration for the congress is now open.
Asparia Glycomics, an international reference in the field of glycan synthesis and analysis, announces once again its sponsorship and participation in the 8th edition of Glycobasque, a leading international scientific meeting in the field of glycosciences.
The event, which will take place on October 23-24, 2025, in San Sebastián, will last one and a half days and will bring together some of the world's top leaders in research applied to glycobiology, immunology, and carbohydrate chemistry.
Glycobasque is organized in collaboration with the research centers CIC bioGUNE (Derio, Bizkaia) and CIC biomaGUNE (San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa), under the scientific direction of renowned researchers Niels Reichardt and Jesús Jiménez-Barbero.
This edition will feature the participation of distinguished researchers including:
- Dr. Martina Delbianco (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany), expert in glycan synthesis and carbohydrate-based materials.
- Prof. Lars Nitschke (University of Erlangen, Germany), expert in glycoimmunology.
- Prof. Xufei Huang (Michigan State University, USA), expert in carbohydrate chemistry and glycan-based vaccines.
- Dr. June Ereño (CIC bioGUNE, Spain), expert in glycan-based therapies and new biomedical applications.
The program includes keynote lectures, presentations by young researchers, and spaces for scientific exchange, with special focus on emerging areas such as glycoimmunology in cancer and infectious diseases, the development of glycomimetics, and new tools for analyzing carbohydrate-protein interactions.
