The largest biotech event country based event in Europe
20 years facilitating the development of the biotech industry through BIOSPAIN
BIOSPAIN is the largest biotech event organized by a national bioindustry association in Europe and one of the largest in the world (5th) by the number of one-to-one meetings (+3.300) and companies participating (+773). This year, in its 10th edition, the event will take place in Pamplona from September 29th to October 1st.
In 2017 there were 713 dedicated biotechnology enterprises in Spain (+9.5%), according to data in the AseBio Report 2018.
The biotechnology sector’s contribution to the Spanish economy totalled €6.95 billion (0.7% of the Spanish GDP). It was responsible for more than 92,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs, which is 0.5% of all employment. Over 25,000 of these jobs were people employed directly by biotech companies. All of this activity associated with biotech companies generated a total revenue of nearly €2.5 billion for the public treasury, which is 0.2% of the GDP.
The event is organized by AseBio, the Spanish Bioindustry Association, with the collaboration of Sodena – Government of Navarre for the 2020 edition.
With more than 1800 delegates from 31 countries, +200 exhibitors and over 3.330 one-to-one meetings, Biospain is the third largest biotech event in Europe, following directly in the footsteps of BIO-Europe and BIO-Europe Spring.
BIOSPAIN is the tool AseBio uses to create business and investment opportunities and thanks to the +17.000 one-to-one meetings held in the past 10 years, we can no doubt say that AseBio has been an integral part of the development of the Spanish biotech ecosystem.
BIOSPAIN is also the right place to learn more about the science coming out of research institutions, identify licensing deals or network with the main Venture Capital firms and Pharmaceutical companies from Spain and the rest of Europe.
All of the above is complemented by a complete conference program where the main and most actual topics will be covered, such as Immunotherapy, CAR-T, Precision Medicine, CNS, Circular Economy, Agrobiotechnology or Artificial Intelligence.
