Following the acquisition of ReadyCell S.L., a leading provider of ready-to-use cell kits and pioneer of a unique technology for room-temperature cell shipment, MedTech Barcelona has reinforced its commitment to innovation by introducing new products and launching strategic collaborations.

The company's current portfolio includes well-established products for preclinical research, such as CacoReady (Caco-2 cell cultures) for intestinal permeability assays; CacoGoblet (Caco-2 and HT-29 co-culture) for studying inflammatory processes; the PreadyPort family, focused on efflux transporters (BCRP, MDR1); and the PreadyTake family, designed for uptake transporters (MATE1, OCT2, OATP1B3). Building on this foundation, the company has introduced two new solutions that expand research applications: Custom Cell Plates and Shipping Media.

Custom Cell Plates are tailor-made kits developed for each project and delivered in a ready-to-use format. This solution enables researchers to run assays with specific cell lines for preclinical and clinical studies, removing the need for in-house culture preparation. It helps address common challenges, such as the demand for large-scale culture production or limited specialized staff. MedTech Barcelona now provides customized cell plates in high volumes with shorter preparation times.

Through Shipping MediaMedTech Barcelona builds on its patented transport technology by collaborating with developers of cellular models (2D, 3D, organoids, etc.) to advance scientific research. These customized media maintain cell viability and stability at ambient temperature for several days, enabling the shipment of complex cellular models worldwide. To date, the technology has been validated for the transport of HEK293, Caco-2, MDCKII, HT-29, iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and neurons, and primary hepatocytes, with additional models in development.
