Natac (NAT), a biotechnology company specialised in the sustainable production of botanical extracts and omega-3 oils, has been selected as a finalist in the Industry Awards in Spain, in the Industrial Innovation category, thanks to the SustaiNext project. This European initiative, led by Natac, represents a profound transformation of the traditional model of the plant extract industry.

The company is promoting a new industrial paradigm based on the concept of the 21st-century biorefinery through its DYANA (Dynamic Analytical Biorefinery) technology. This intelligent industrial system dynamically adapts extraction processes according to the actual composition of each biomass batch. Unlike traditional systems, which apply fixed processing conditions regardless of the raw material, DYANA reverses this approach and turns natural variability into a competitive advantage.

The initiative also represents a significant step forward in industrial sustainability. SustaiNext enables the transition from a linear model to a circular and multiproduct system in which biomass is fully valorised, reducing waste and optimising energy consumption. The result is a more efficient, traceable and environmentally responsible production model.
