Javier Ruiz. Pharmaron is a premier service provider for the life sciences industry, offering integrated, end-to-end solutions to support the needs of its partners around the world. With a deep commitment to customer service and scientific excellence, Pharmaron has invested in its people, facilities and technology to develop a global end-to-end service platform for drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development, and commercialization across multiple therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, biologics, and CGT products. Pharmaron is known for its high-quality work coupled with flexibility and speed.
Pharmaron is constantly developing and delivering high quality scientific and thought leadership content including white papers, webinars and podcasts, to help educate and support our clients and industry connections. We believe AseBio members could benefit from access to our thought leadership content. We also hope to play a leading role in the local life sciences community, through networking and support, and providing customised solutions to support drug development in the region.

Spain has strategically built up a rich ecosystem of innovative pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and academic institutions, and AseBio is a bridge to connect our company to this vibrant network. For us, AseBio represents more than just an association; it's a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and growth within the Spanish biotech landscape. Through AseBio, we gain access to invaluable resources, networking opportunities, and industry insights that empower us to stay at the forefront of advancements in biotechnology. Moreover, AseBio serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, enabling us to learn from peers, share best practices, and contribute to the collective progress of the sector. By being part of AseBio, we are not only strengthening our presence in Spain but also actively contributing to the advancement of the biotech industry, driving positive impact and innovation in healthcare and beyond.

AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?

Javier Ruiz. We first learned about AseBio during our initial market research into the Spanish biotech landscape. As we explored opportunities for collaboration and engagement within the industry, AseBio emerged as a prominent association facilitating connections and fostering growth within the sector. This discovery prompted us to delve deeper into AseBio's mission, activities, and the benefits of membership, ultimately leading to our decision to join this esteemed organization.

AseBio. What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Javier Ruiz. Joining AseBio offers Pharmaron the opportunity to connect with the thriving Spanish life sciences network and establish new collaborations and partnerships, while supporting and strengthening the region’s life sciences footprint. In addition, joining AseBio allows Pharmaron to share its extensive know-how in drug R&D, providing opportunities to collaborate and share technologies, resources, experience, and knowledge with like-minded peers from across the industry.  

With 21 sites globally and industry experts based in the territory, Pharmaron is in close proximity to clients and partners, allowing us to better support their evolving needs and help them to advance their pharmaceutical life science programmes.  

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector (or your company)?

Javier Ruiz. The biggest challenge is ensuring that our innovations effectively address unmet medical needs and reach patients in a timely manner.
