AseBio. What does your company's work bring to the table and what is its strength?

Kally Wong. In DSM Pentapharm, the history and knowledge in hemostasis research is long and accomplished.  In 1954, we have identified the use of snake venom enzyme Reptilase as an active pharmaceutical ingredient. Pentapharm has then extended the expertise to in-vitro diagnosis related to fibrinoanalysis and coagulation.  We would like to exchange our knowledge with researchers in biotechnology and medical technology sectors who share the same interest in hemostasis and thrombosis.

AseBio. What does AseBio mean to you?

Kally Wong. Asebio is a dynamic industry association representing the biotechnology sector in Spain. It bridges the industry and governmental policies.

AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?

Kally Wong. July, 2020

AseBio. What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Kally Wong. Being part of an association,  DSM Pentapharm can access a platform to understand the latest market trend and connect with the biotechnology industry in Spain.

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector (or your company)?

Kally Wong. The biggest challenge we encountered is to quickly bring innovation to the market. We have noticed the complexity of regulatory requirement inhibits  innovation nowaday for both start-ups and established companies. This demands substantial time and financial investment.
