AseBio. What does your company's work bring to the table and what is its strength?

Daniel Heinisch.Recog is a young start-up that aims to help our clients get the most out of their data. To achieve this, we use AI, optimization and other techniques to draw valuable insights from hospitals, drug developers and biotech companies that turn into benefit for the population. Although we provide our services in the context of research, we offer the whole pipeline from data cleaning to dashboard and application development to ensure you get the most out of your data.

AseBio. What is AseBio for you?

Daniel Heinisch. AseBio is both a) the place that enables us to share our developments and innovate together with other companies and, b) a coordinated voice of the members to provide more visibility to the crucial role of research and innovation for Spanish society to prosper.

AseBio.When did you first hear about AseBio?

Daniel Heinisch. We met Ion at the Galician Biodays and after briefly talking to him we immediately knew that joining AseBio was both a great opportunity but also a responsibility.

AseBio.What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Daniel Heinisch. We expect to meet innovative and driven people, to find collaborations and to drive impact together.

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector (or your company)?

Daniel Heinisch. In our context (data and AI), we would like to highlight two main challenges:

  •  Availability and quality of the data is a big challenge.
  • Industry perception of the value and possibilities of applying AI in all of the different applications is still at an early stage.
