#NewMemberAseBio | "AseBio is the major community of Spanish biotechnology that provides a favourable environment to protect innovation in the biotechnology sector and ensure the exploitation of patents"
Meet r Multipartner Virtual Data Room, our new member. We talked to María del Mar García, Area Manager Spain & LatAm at the company
AseBio. What does Multipartner do and what sets you apart?
María del Mar García. Multipartner has been developing in-house web-based platforms in SaaS mode for the secure and controlled exchange of confidential documents for over 20 years, in order to protect the company's intellectual property and prevent information leakage.
Our platforms facilitate the security and efficiency in due diligence processes and financing rounds, support and optimize licensing and sales agreements and support subsequent investment and growth operations via acquisitions.
We distinguish ourselves not only by our commercial strategy but also by our customer service strategy: maximum flexibility in meeting the needs of each Client and the guarantee that the Client will find no surprises in its invoice or pay any additional costs. The platform is tailor-made as well as the contractual part, given the requirement to go digital.
AseBio. What is AseBio for you?
María del Mar García. AseBio is the major community of Spanish biotechnology that provides a favourable environment to protect innovation in the biotechnology sector and ensure the exploitation of patents. The protection of know-how is also one of our missions and the Virtual Data Room is a great help for this purpose. That is why we want to make ourselves known among our partners and other participants as a trusted ally that offers them a collaborative tool to share and manage their documents and projects efficiently around the world, ensuring maximum security, integrity and confidentiality of information.
AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?
María del Mar García. The first time was thanks to a Client who recommended us the partnership, given the increasing needs of digitization and information security that this sector has. We were already partners in 2017 and 2018 and we have attended Biospain 2018 and 2020. The reception has been so good that we have decided to collaborate again as partners and participate in this year's Biospain event in Barcelona.
AseBio. What is the biggest challenge for the biotech sector (or your company)?
María del Mar García. SMEs and startups are not considered potential targets of cyber-attacks. However, during the pandemic, 70% received some kind of computer attack. Protecting your data is something you tiptoe around and an expense you don't consider until you suffer a cyberattack.
Our challenge is to raise awareness that not only large corporations can afford the cost of a Virtual Data Room. A business, a transaction or a project can be ruined if confidential data is hijacked and stolen, and this is priceless.
AseBio. What is the biggest challenge for the biotech sector (or your company)?
María del Mar García. Thanks to our platforms, ASEBIO partners will be able to securely manage and share sensitive information, protecting their data and preventing it from being copied.
Our added value is what defines us: flexibility, transparency, security and an affordable cost.
We want to engage with all AseBio Partners to democratize access to information security, making it available to ALL companies wishing to protect their intellectual property against cyber attacks and data theft. No matter their size or budget, they can have a platform that guarantees the protection of their know-how.
