Bioeconomy and competitiveness days: challenges and opportunities for Europe
A meeting dedicated to exploring business opportunities, challenges, and innovations in the field of the bioeconomy.
On 17–18 June, Pamplona will become the meeting point for companies, institutions, technology centres, investors, and professionals from the European innovation ecosystem with the celebration of the “Bioeconomy and Competitiveness Days: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe.”
The event, organised by the Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Transition of the Government of Navarre and SODENA, within the framework of the ECIV Project and alongside the General Assembly of the international network ACR+, will address the main challenges and opportunities that the bioeconomy presents for European industry.
Over the course of two days, representatives from European regions, companies, R&D stakeholders, investors, academic organisations, and institutional entities will share knowledge, experiences, and scalable solutions aimed at accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable, innovative, and competitive economy. In addition, the event will serve to explore new collaboration opportunities among the different actors of the innovation ecosystem.
A programme focused on innovation and collaboration
The programme will include conferences delivered by national and international experts, as well as specialised thematic sessions focused on strategic areas such as agrifood, biomaterials, and health & cosmetics.
Real business cases will also be presented by companies that already base their business models on the bioeconomy or are currently undergoing sustainable diversification processes, showcasing concrete applications and innovative models across different industrial sectors.
The event will also feature:
- Pitch sessions for innovative projects and initiatives.
- A showroom area for the exhibition of bio-based products and solutions.
- Networking spaces and opportunities for attendees to connect.
- Technical visits to the CENER Biorefinery and Bioenergy Centre and the Polo IRIS synthetic biology laboratory.
The event will also include the participation of representatives from the European Commission (DG Environment) and the World Bioeconomy Association, reinforcing its international dimension.
