Researcher with expertise in Recombinant Protein Expression and Purification

SUCCIPRO (www.succipro.com), a dynamic and innovative spin-off company born from the DIAMET research team (www.diamet.org), part of the Institut D’Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV) www.iispv.cat), is seeking to fill one position for a Researcher. While previous experience in protein expression and purification is a must, knowledge on general biochemical in vitro and in vivo techniques, as well in analytical methods will be also valued.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Tarragona. The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of SUCCIPRO’s therapeutic compounds.

Job Responsibilities:

• Routine production of recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli for multiple research activities.
• In-house optimization of the protein production process (both upstream and downstream), including fermentation parameters, purification protocols for in vitro and in vivo applications and endotoxin removal strategies to meet high-level standards.
• Reporting to Drug Discovery Director and project management of production.
• Support in the supervision of external CDMO activities
• Independently perform a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. These may include molecular biology, cell culture and biochemistry.
• Support in animal procedures, in coordination with the rest of the preclinical team
• Support in analytical procedures

Qualifications:

A degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

Previous experience in protein expression and purification is a must. Previous experience with an ÄKTA go™ chromatography system will be valued

A certificate of Research Personnel User of Experimental Animals title on animal handling is not compulsory but will be highly valued.

Fluent professional English is required. Proficient computer skills (normal user level).
