Natac Biotech, the main company of the Natac Natural Ingredients Group (BME: NAT), dedicated to the sustainable production of botanical extracts, has once again obtained the double ‘Calculate and Reduce’ seal awarded by the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC) of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).

This recognition reflects the company’s 4.18% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions between 2023 and 2025 compared with the 2022–2024 three-year period. The reduction covers emissions associated with fuel consumption (Scope 1) and energy consumption (Scope 2).

As Carmen Nuevo, Director of QA & Environmental Management at Natac, highlights: “Obtaining the ‘Calculate and Reduce’ seal for the second consecutive year demonstrates that reducing our carbon footprint is not a one-off action, but rather an integral part of the company’s sustainability strategy.” She adds that “measuring our emissions allows us to identify opportunities for improvement and make more environmentally efficient decisions.”

The company will continue working to improve the efficiency of its processes and reduce its emissions, aligning its industrial growth with increasingly responsible resource management. To this end, Natac has a medium-term emissions reduction plan and a solar photovoltaic installation at its Hervás plant, which enables the company to generate renewable energy for self-consumption and reduce its dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
