Fraunhofer Spain Research Foundation is a private non-profit organization affiliated with Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest organization for applied research. Its mission is to promote scientific research, technological development and knowledge transfer to industry and society, acting as a bridge between academia and the productive sector. Its main initiative is the Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics (Fraunhofer CAT), specialized in precision medicine and advanced therapies. The center develops innovative solutions for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, promoting translational research and international collaboration to generate scientific, industrial and healthcare impact.
Applied research and technological development in the field of precision medicine and theragnostics. Development, modelling and optimization of processes for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment; design of advanced biological models, organ models and biomimetic techniques for in vitro testing; as well as the validation of innovative biomedical technologies.
Fraunhofer Spain Research seeks to establish strategic collaborations in precision medicine, advanced therapies, applied theragnostics, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, disease models, biomimetic technologies, organ-on-chip systems, advanced in vitro testing and non-invasive tools based on artificial intelligence. Priority areas also include translational research, preclinical validation, the development of technological platforms for diagnosis and treatment, collaboration with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and participation in national and international consortia aimed at accelerating the transfer of biomedical innovation to the healthcare system and industry.
