AseBio. What does your company's work bring to the table and what is its strength?

Daniel Arenas. Intusomics provides an integrated approach to transform complex omics data into research and development decisions. We support hospitals, research centres, and biotechnology companies from the definition of the biological question and experimental design through to the coordination of assays with specialised providers, computational analysis, and the translational interpretation of results.

Our strength lies in combining advanced bioinformatics, statistical rigour, translational biology, and scientific and technical coordination. We aim to recover the relevant biological signal that automated approaches may overlook and turn it into knowledge with clinical, scientific, strategic, and commercial impact.

Daniel Arenas. For Intusomics, AseBio is the leading meeting point for the Spanish biotechnology ecosystem. It brings together companies, researchers, hospitals, institutions, and investors around a shared goal of driving innovation so that scientific knowledge can generate real impact and collaborations can help move ideas from research into application. 

AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?

Daniel Arenas. I first heard about AseBio during my scientific career. Since then, I have always regarded it as a relevant voice and a key reference within the Spanish biotechnology ecosystem. However, it is now, from a business perspective, that I particularly value its ability to give visibility to the sector and connect the different stakeholders that shape it.

AseBio. What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Daniel Arenas. We hope to be part of a community that fosters connections and collaborations with companies, research centres, hospitals, and institutions across the biotechnology ecosystem. At a time when precision medicine is becoming increasingly important, we believe it is essential to bring together scientific, technological, and clinical capabilities to turn complex data into decisions and solutions with real impact.

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector or your company?

Daniel Arenas. One of the major challenges facing the sector is ensuring that the vast amount of data being generated can be translated into truly useful knowledge. Bioinformatics is often brought in at the end of a project as a technical step, when it should instead be part of the strategy from the experimental design stage.

For Intusomics, the challenge is to demonstrate the value of this integrated approach. We aim to ensure that data does not simply remain in a report, but is translated into sound decisions, biomarkers, publications, and real development opportunities.
