Join the BIOSPAIN 2026 Talent Day: Connecting Biotech Companies with Specialized Talent
The congress, which will take place in Bilbao from 29 September to 1 October, will dedicate its final day to the Talent Day, an event bringing together companies, researchers, professionals and students to foster employment, talent acquisition and collaboration between academia and the biotechnology industry.
Human capital and talent are essential drivers of business growth. The biotechnology sector benefits from an outstanding talent pool, has the highest proportion of researchers among its workforce, and is distinguished by the strong presence of women in R&D activities. The rapid scientific and technological advances that are reshaping our society—with biotechnology at the forefront of innovation—also bring significant challenges. The sector increasingly requires multidisciplinary professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a constantly evolving scientific and technological environment.
With this in mind, BIOSPAIN 2026 (Bilbao, 29 September–1 October) will once again dedicate its final day to the Talent Day, a space designed to connect companies, professionals, researchers and students, promote talent development, and address the current and future challenges of skills development and employment within the biotechnology sector.
The Talent Day is aimed at researchers, PhD candidates, recent graduates, professionals seeking new career opportunities, biotechnology companies and human resources managers. The event offers a unique meeting point to connect the national and international biotech talent pool with the industry, helping companies identify and engage with the professionals they need.
The next edition of the Talent Day will be supported by CEU (Universidad CEU San Pablo), PNO Innovation, and FEBiotec (Spanish Federation of Biotechnologists), leading organisations committed to promoting and developing talent. Their support will help create valuable synergies between academia, research and the needs of the biotechnology industry, facilitating access to the labour market for emerging professionals.
Why attend the Talent Day?
For companies, one of the main advantages of participating in the Talent Day is the opportunity to connect directly with highly qualified biotechnology professionals. The event also provides an excellent platform to strengthen employer branding strategies, positioning organisations as attractive employers within the biotech sector.
The Talent Day creates an environment that enables more efficient interviews between companies and candidates, encouraging a better understanding of each other's needs and expectations. Companies can identify the candidates who best match their vacancies, while professionals gain first-hand insight into career opportunities and the skills currently in demand across the sector.
For candidates, the Talent Day offers an excellent opportunity to showcase their profiles, demonstrate their expertise, and connect with companies looking to discover, attract and recruit specialised professionals.
Talent Day by the numbers
In 2025, the Talent Day welcomed more than 300 participants, hosted over 120 interviews, and achieved an overall satisfaction score of 4.8 out of 5.
Companies and organisations including AstraZeneca, Bayer, Almirall, Mabxience, INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, Leanbio, VHIR, CaixaResearch, and CIBER took part, connecting with candidates from Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.
How can I participate in the Talent Day?
To participate in the Talent Day, both candidates and companies must register in advance through the official BIOSPAIN website.
Candidates will be able to browse available job opportunities and request face-to-face interviews with the companies they are interested in through the event platform. Companies, meanwhile, will create their profiles, publish job vacancies and manage their interview schedules with candidates whose profiles best match their recruitment needs. Interviews will last a maximum of 20 minutes and will take place in dedicated spaces designed to provide a professional and efficient networking environment.
Registration for the Talent Day will remain open until 23 September 2026.
Don't miss the opportunity to take part in one of the biotechnology sector's leading events. More than 250 participants have already registered for BIOSPAIN 2026, and over 50% of the exhibition space has already been booked. This year's edition is expected to be as successful as the previous one, which welcomed more than 2,400 attendees from over 1,000 organisations across 34 countries.
