Sustainability Committee
Biotechnology plays a fundamental role in ensuring the sustainability of our agricultural system, transforming our industry, and achieving safe, sustainable, and high-quality food. The Sustainability Committee of AseBio proposes initiatives for biotechnology companies to work in a favorable regulatory environment, highlights the sector's capabilities, and identifies needs for the sector to unleash its full potential. This committee is comprised of three working groups: sustainable agriculture, food innovation, and industrial biotechnology.
Goals
- Promote the establishment of a suitable and stable national and European regulatory framework to facilitate the contributions of biotechnology to agri-food production, environmental conservation, and to stimulate research and innovation in industrial biotechnology.
- Continue positioning different areas of biotechnology such as agri-food, blue biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, among others, on the agenda of public administrations and institutions, favoring measures to promote and support the sector.
- Achieve greater visibility and recognition of biotechnology for its contribution to a circular economy and its role in achieving safe, sustainable, and high-quality food.

- Promote the establishment of an appropriate and stable national and European regulatory framework to facilitate the contributions of biotechnology to sustainable agriculture production with a focus on productivity and environmental conservation.
- Continue positioning biotechnology in sustainable agriculture on the agenda of public administrations and institutions, favoring measures to promote and support the sector.
- Position biotechnology in sustainable and regenerative agriculture, highlighting its capabilities to ensure supply in Europe and the rest of the world.
Food Innovation
Coordinator

Goals
- Highlight the contribution of Spanish food innovation and food tech.
- Promote food innovation by working towards the recognition of new types of nutrients for human and animal consumption that are more environmentally sustainable.
- Promote the establishment of an appropriate and stable national and European regulatory framework to facilitate the contributions of biotechnology to food production.
- Promote the provision of necessary resources for the development of food innovation.
Industrial Biotechnology

Goals
- Promote favorable regulation to harness the full potential of biotechnology in industrial applications targeted at the food, healthcare, chemical, cosmetic sectors, among others.
- Position industrial biotechnology on the agenda of public administrations and institutions, favoring measures to promote and support the industrial sector.
- Achieve greater visibility and recognition of biotechnology and its role in industrial bioprocesses already occurring in the fields of healthcare, food, blue biotechnology, cosmetics, or chemicals.
- Identify the needs of the industrial sector regarding necessary infrastructures, structures, and industries for the full-scale development of innovations.
- Promote the establishment of an incentive framework for the industrialization of the sector.
